The personal mobile devices of weframe users are an important and indispensable part of working with weframe. In the following you will learn about mobile devices:
What is a mobile device?
To use certain functions of weframe, you need an Internet-enabled computing device, which we summarize under the term "Mobile Device". To administrate Sessions, the type of device and the location are irrelevant. But to be usable in the group workroom, devices must be "mobile" – due to their size and weight, these are primarily laptops, tablet PCs and smartphones.
What functions do I need a mobile device for?
a) Screen Sharing
To show content such as presentations, movies or documents via Screen Sharing, simply connect your mobile device to weframe One.
b) Creating and managing Sessions
Your weframe account is accessible via weframe.one in the browser of your mobile device. Your Session Library contains your existing Sessions for administration and you can create new Sessions.
c) Contributing content to Sessions
Text, images and video are sent from mobile devices to the Session.
What requirements does the mobile device have to meet?
a) Connection socket for HDMI or corresponding adapter
To use Screen Sharing on weframe One, your mobile device must have a type A HDMI connector. Alternatively, you can also use an HDMI adapter at another socket of your device (e.g. USB, Lightning etc.).
b) Internet connection
weframe as a cloud-based solution requires an existing Internet connection in any case. The type of Internet access is not decisive, it can be connection-based access (LAN / WLAN) or a mobile data connection (3G / LTE). The larger the data volume of the content (text < image < video), the more helpful a fast Internet connection is.
The device must have a web browser that is as up-to-date as possible. Basically, weframe runs in all current standard web browsers (Google Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Microsoft Internet Explorer, Edge, Safari). weframe recommends Google Chrome.
Otherwise, there are no specific requirements for the operating system or equipment of the device.
