Welcome to weframe – it's nice that you are just as interested in better meetings as we are. This article will show you how easy and stimulating digital group work with weframe is. It introduces you to the most important functions and advantages of weframe as a basis. You will find a lot of detailed information about the included cross-links to the entire weframe manual.
How is weframe structured?
weframe brings all forms of group work together in one digital format. Therefore, weframe integrates everything that digital group work needs:
weframe One is a Multi-Touch-Device, developed especially for group work. It is big enough to let whole groups interact at the same time and discuss their contents.
With weframe One, the mobile devices of everybody in the room can be connected. This turns the entire room into a digital platform and all participants can make active contributions.
A large digital Workspace and numerous digital tools are available for the group to work on their contents and topics. Most of the tools (e.g. screen sharing, flip chart, whiteboard or sticky notes) are both well-known and tried and tested a thousand times over. This means, you can continue working with them on weframe – with hardly any learning effort, but now with more possibilities and all the advantages of the digital.
Further, group work on weframe is structured in Sessions, in which all discussed and developed content is stored. This enables flexible working, independent of time and space: Where weframe One is available, Sessions with all contents can be opened again and edited further.
Working with weframe for the first time.
Working with weframe is intuitive. This applies to the first steps, too. You will be welcomed with the Start Screen – the starting point for working with weframe.
Quick start to Screen Sharing.
The easiest way to work with weframe is one tap away: The Start Button takes you quickly and easily to the Screen Sharing function. With Screen Sharing, you transfer the screen of your own device (laptop, tablet, smartphone) to weframe One. So you can, for example:
- Present your prepared slides (e.g. PowerPoint, Keynote, etc.)
- Display and discuss documents (e.g. Excel spreadsheet, PDF files, etc.)
- Show movies (e.g. online via YouTube or locally via a video player)
That's how you do it:
Plug the HDMI cable of weframe One into the HDMI socket of your mobile device (laptop, tablet, smartphone).
Tap on the red start button in the middle of the Start Screen.
An open Screen Sharing window opens directly in the middle of the screen of weframe One. The image of your device is displayed here.
For display in full-screen mode, tap the screen sharing window twice.
To quit screen sharing, quit full-screen mode first by touching the screen twice again. Click the "Back" button in the upper left corner of the screen to return to the start screen.
Open a Session directly.
Do you want to use weframe in its full bandwidth immediately? Very good! To make sure your work with weframe is stored safely from the beginning, please create a weframe account and create your session directly there. You can open it then on the weframe One in front of you:
Open the URL weframe.one on your mobile device and connect to the weframe One near you.
Go to "My Sessions" in the upper right corner of the Burger Menu.
- You are now in your Session Library. Here you will find a list of all Sessions you manage as squares.
- Click the red "Start" button on the Session you want to open.
Your Session will appear on the weframe One device you are connected to. The group work can begin.
Please note: If a Session is currently opened, it will be marked as active in your Session Library. All other Sessions cannot be opened for this long, the "Start" button is grayed out.
To end the Session on weframe One, you have two options:
- Go to the Session Library and click on the red "Stop" button of the active Session.
The session disappears from the weframe One screen.
- You can also close the session by tapping the "Close Session" button in the Session Menu.
